A paranoid boy with blue hair chased by a tall man in a robe. This is the scene Cori Lewis witnesses, throwing her simple life into mayhem. She is just trying to get through her freshman year of college; make it to her classes, get good grades, maybe even find a significant other. But after witnessing one of her classmates being pursued by a mysterious man, she and her friends are kidnapped and taken to a remote location. Hoping they’re participating in a psychological experiment, they do their best to assimilate into the boarding school-like environment created by their captors. The longer they stay, the less human their captors appear. It's unsettling, but manageable. Until the killing starts.
As the deaths add up, it becomes clear their captors are looking for something among the captives. They’re looking for the Order, thirty-six individuals with special powers. After discovering herself to be one of these individuals, Cori must find and work with the others like her to have any chance of making it out alive.
Once a month, the Bone List comes out, announcing nine worst of the worst individuals whom the infamous Skull, an ancient and anonymous entity, will kill.

Damon Kellam never expected his name to show up on the Bone List. A murderer with a reputation for making people quake in their boots and killing just about anyone for the right price. He might be bad, but even he’s not the evil that earns the interest of the Skull. Kaitlyn Herrin is much the same, but her trade isn’t killing, it’s stealing. Renowned and revered, she takes great joy in the game of acquiring the most lucrative prize.
When both unexpectedly find their names on the next Bone List, neither believes they should have been chosen. Their intertwined past makes them an unlikely partnership, but working together is the only way they’ll be able to find the Skull before his assassins find them. To save their lives, Kaitlyn will have to put her trust in someone besides herself while Damon will need to step out of his brothers’ shadow and be his own person.
